Robert Glascock
Born June 23, 1925. Graduated from Central High School in 1945. After graduation, he worked at Republic Aviation until the war ended and then went to work for Ed Rech for awhile and then Krieger-Ragsdale Printing, In 1948, Bob enrolled in the Chicago Lithographic Technical School. After graduating, he returned to Krieger. Subsequent jobs were at Creative Press and Keller-Crescent. About 1953, he became an Evansville Courier & Press Advertising Salesman and then the same for Channel 14.
In 1960, Bob became Advertising & Graphic Arts Director of R. Malcom Associates, an in-house advertising agency of George Koch Sons. In this position, he did location and aerial photography, supervised other staff photographers, implemented new darkroom and offset printing equipment, printed 4 color catalogs, and created and placed GKS trade magazine ads. He retired in 1985.
NOTE: Bob Glasscock was my first boss. He taught me graphic arts production plus how to think in terms of photographic negative and positive. My first day on the job was spent shooting and reshooting line negatives untill I knew how to do it right. I was usually impressed with how much he seem to know about graphics. Bob is also a photo historian and has a collection of early Evansville photos.
So thank you Mr Glascock for launching me.
