At the age of 17 I joined the US Navy with a promise to send me to their photography school. (Maybe the best in the world). As you would guess they made me an Aviation Ordnanceman instead. After the Navy, marriage & children photography kept knawing on me. I played with it for a while and in 1967 I became the track photographer for the Tri-State Speedway. I stayed in that position for 13 years. During those years I worked about every auto race track in this part of the country plus shooting more weddings than I care to remember. All this time I was working a full time job for SIGECO, but in 1979 Sue, (my wife) and I decided that one of the jobs had to go so I quit the company and started my first full time studio on the second floor of the Heston Insurance building. We photographed high school seniors, weddings and all the other various and sundry things that come to a portrait studio. Our commercial business also started to grow and after about 5 years we outgrew that studio and moved to the Weinbach Shopping center

We were there for about 10 years. During that time I received through the Professional Photographers of America my "Certified Professional Photographer" certificate. We then moved to a nine thousand square foot area in Washington Square Mall. I believe this to have been the largest studio in Indiana as far as square feet are concerned. We were in this location until my retirement in 2000. During these years we had the honor of photographing some of the best known people in the city as well as other dignitaries such as President Ford, Congressman McClosky and many others. In 2000 the studio was purchased by Shannon Lewis who built a new building in Newburgh.

Many of the people included in this book I count as good friends and colleagues.

My time is now taken up with fishing, guiding tours on the LST and watching my grandchildren grow up
